Accuracy
Before each edition is sent, every factual claim in its top section, What happened lines and Worth knowing is checked against the sources it came from; a line that is only partly right or contradicted is rewritten to match them (citing a new source, government and regulators first, when the cited ones lack the fact), then checked again by a second, different model. The time of that check is noted at the end of each edition. After the edition goes out, the second model checks about five of its factual claims again against the sources they came from: supported, partly right, not found in those sources, or contradicted by them. The checks also count places where the edition disagrees with itself or with the last two weeks. Anything partly right or contradicted goes to Steven, who decides whether to correct it. The checks are machine-run, and the corrections below are made by hand.
Last 3 editions: 6 of 15 checked claims fully supported (40%).

| 2026-11-01 | Nov 1, 2026, 10:43 ET | Podcast re-recorded with Steven's takes restored (an earlier re-record had left them out). |
| 2026-10-31 | Nov 1, 2026, 10:36 ET | Podcast re-recorded with Steven's takes restored (an earlier re-record had left them out). |
| 2026-10-30 | Nov 1, 2026, 10:29 ET | Podcast re-recorded with Steven's takes restored (an earlier re-record had left them out). |
| 2026-11-01 | Nov 1, 2026, 09:59 ET | Deep dive re-recorded with the two wording fixes. |
| 2026-11-01 | Nov 1, 2026, 09:34 ET | Deep dive: a sentence cut short by the automatic fact check ("That is a joke on a recording, not ...") now reads in full, and a stray "He" now names the post it refers to. |
| 2026-10-30 | Oct 31, 2026, 17:55 ET | Cohere story: Canada's $1.6B is staged against jobs and investment in Canada, as the government's release says; it is not tied to revenue. Podcast re-recorded. |
| 2026-10-31 | Oct 31, 2026, 12:25 ET | Briefing, Big Tech item: the free cash flow figures come from the companies' results, not from S&P's debt report; capex guidance now given per company; Meta's 15% fall in October is no longer described as caused by S&P's outlook cut, which came on Oct 30. |
| 2026-10-31 | Oct 31, 2026, 12:06 ET | Podcast re-recorded with the briefing corrections (the $2T valuation post was a repost, not Gary Marcus's own), and the transcript rebuilt from the corrected deep dive. |
| 2026-10-31 | Oct 31, 2026, 12:01 ET | Briefing: removed a wrong "(May 2024)" date from the Anthropic S-1 item; the $2T valuation post was one Gary Marcus reposted on X, not his own; reworded the garbled evidence check; removed a reader-specific access code from a Stratechery link. |
| 2026-10-31 | Oct 31, 2026, 08:44 ET | Deep dive: removed an unrelated article that the automatic fact check had added to its Sources. |
| 2026-10-31 | Oct 31, 2026, 08:41 ET | Deep dive rewritten: the first version repeated whole passages because of a bug in our fact check; this version is checked again. Your take is unchanged. |
| 2026-10-30 | Oct 30, 2026, 13:28 ET | Deep dive: Zvi's post was Oct 17, not this week; the draft's own text (not Charlie Bullock) has courts weigh harm to the developer; Bullock's auditor warning was an X post quoted by Transformer; Cimino's post is undated. Podcast re-recorded with these and the Cohere fix. |
| 2026-10-30 | Oct 30, 2026, 11:16 ET | Cohere story: the investor is the Government of Canada, not "CDIC" (no source named it). The $1.6B comes in stages with progress reported on jobs and investment commitments; revenue milestones were not stated. Added the Prime Minister's Office release as a source. |
| 2026-10-23 | Oct 23, 2026, 17:30 ET | Our read said OpenAI had no disclosed revenue; its revenue has been reported (not audited), so it now says no audited revenue. |
| 2026-10-22 | Oct 23, 2026, 17:30 ET | The day in brief tied the $21M savings claim to Legora; it was an investor's post about Spellbook. |
| 2026-10-23 | Oct 23, 2026, 10:39 ET | The $21M claim was investor Keith Rabois's post about Spellbook, not a vendor claim; Legora did disclose ARR (above $200M). |
| 2026-10-22 | Oct 23, 2026, 10:39 ET | Keith Rabois is not Spellbook's founder; the Agenda line said he was. |
