EE150 - Fall 1996

Exams

Jump To: [Midterm #1 | Midterm #2 | Final]
------ Midterm 1 was difficult and long, and this was emphasized in class beforehand. An open book exam typically requires you to apply your knowledge in understanding, interpreting problems and in constructing solutions to particular new problem instances. This midterm covered Chapters 1, 2 and 3 in the Joy of C text. Specific questions and answers I have been asked about the midterm appear here:

Will the grades for Midterm 1 be curved?

Not really. However, the exams will be marked taking into account the fact that very few students completed every question.

1. The exam was too long.

Answer

Perhaps. The exam was given based on the 50 minute exams of past terms, with at least one reduction in the number of questions. An exam of this type requires your comprehension of the concepts involved without hesitation. If there are parts of the chapters involved that you are not comfortable with, you MUST find help about it before an exam.

2. We didn't see (int) in class?

Answer

Actually we talked about the CAST operator several times including some examples. It is discussed in Chapter 3, Section 3.5 on page 59.

3. Insert your question here?

Answer

An answer will be available as soon as possible to your question, via email and then the answer will be posted here anonymously.
