# Text-First Recovery Cycle

Cycle date: **October 27, 2026**. Owner: this public-information maintainer.
Other machines consume approved outputs and return requests; they are not a
parallel archive-production effort.

## Recorded Direction

- No earlier private transcript is currently known. Regenerate Riddick locally
from the publisher's public audio rather than continue an unbounded search.
- Prioritize usable interview/research text and bounded edition checks, with
independent lanes running in parallel and safe Git checkpoints as work proceeds.
- Public searching only. Keep future organizer routes and draft questions; send
no messages, and do not bypass login, caption or publisher access restrictions.
- Keep LinkedIn explicitly blocked/deferred. Manual public-only material can be
considered later; raw LinkedIn exports remain private.
- The 2012 deck identity was not answered. It remains quarantined from attribution
and style use; no new source approval was inferred.

## Production And Review

| Lane | Result / Boundary | Evidence |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Riddick | Publisher feed supplies a new audio enclosure for the same episode GUID; the old path returns 403. All nine local-only ASR chunks completed for the 5,104.95-second recording, producing a private, unreviewed 16,705-word draft. Pinned model files and resumable checkpoints are recorded. No reviewed/public transcript or verified speaker attribution is claimed. | [Media evidence](data/content/checks/2026-10-27-media-research.json), [sanitized production state](data/content/production/riddick-2026-10-27.json) |
| Existing SEI papers | Both local PDFs equal the official institutional downloads. Keep author-form/edition caveats; matching titles or page counts do not prove a final proceedings edition. Private reading extractions were produced. | [Edition evidence](data/content/checks/2026-10-27-text-research.json), [reading-copy metadata](data/content/production/text-recovery-2026-10-27.json) |
| Discipline paper | A public institutional manuscript candidate was privately obtained and extracted. It is not a verified final journal edition or a new public full-text export. | [Reading-copy metadata](data/content/production/text-recovery-2026-10-27.json) |
| Tradeoff paper | Candidate draft author lists differ from the publisher-deposited record. Do not treat these as exact-edition/personal-authorship proof. | [Edition evidence](data/content/checks/2026-10-27-text-research.json) |
| Plan matching paper | No qualifying public full text verified in the bounded search. A related earlier paper is not a substitute. | [Search evidence](data/content/checks/2026-10-27-text-research.json) |
| Other recordings | Corrected wrong-speaker and promotional-clip associations; verified the 2017 joint presentation and separated event/upload dates. Public caption responses yielded no usable text. Three older recording searches remain unlocated, not proven absent. | [Media evidence](data/content/checks/2026-10-27-media-research.json), [source ledger](steven-woods-research/research/media-sources-review.md) |

## What The Consumer Can Use

Start with [the verified machine catalog](data/content/catalog.json), source
records and [request decisions](data/content/request-triage.json). The public
repository still contains approved source bytes and public-safe metadata, not
the newly generated private text. Three private paper-reading copies are
available to this maintainer for review; extraction completeness/reading order
are not yet verified.

For Riddick, `private_asr_in_progress` or `private_draft_unreviewed` does not mean
a usable transcript can be fetched from Pages. Request a reviewed derivative;
do not regenerate the same work on the consumer machine. All speaker labels in
the draft remain unknown. Model confidence and word count are not proof of
correct words, names, dates or attribution.

## Next Gates

1. Listen/correct the complete private Riddick draft and verify
speaker turns, names, dates and chunk boundaries before any attributed output.
2. Review the private reading pack against the preserved source bytes and label
editions explicitly. Do not publicize full copyrighted derivatives without a
   separate rights/publication decision.
3. Keep source-owned approval/release labels distinct from production activity.
Record new/reclassified signals as explicit triage follow-ups, not silent ID
rewrites or claims that every original request was completed.
4. Preserve possible future outreach in the [decision register](CONTENT-REQUEST-TRIAGE.md).
Contacting anyone requires a new direction; this cycle is search-only.
5. Continue committing tools, safe evidence, docs and indexes at major checkpoints.
Raw audio, ASR text and reading derivatives remain local/private. No private
cloud backup destination has been selected or created by this cycle.

See [the production runbook](PRIVATE-CONTENT-PRODUCTION.md) for environment,
resumption, output boundaries and closeout checks. No paid transcription API,
authenticated scraping, organizer message or raw LinkedIn intake occurred.
